How to create a snippet?
Make sure you have the OSlash browser extension installed on your system to create a snippet.
If you don’t, follow the steps on our Getting Started page.
Once the extension is up and running, follow these steps to create a snippet.
From text
- Select the text you want to create the snippet for
- Right click (Or Ctrl + click for Mac) on the selected text
- Click on Save as shortcut

- This will open the OSlash browser popup window
- Give your snippet a name in the input text field
- Change access settings (Public/Workspace/Personal) if needed
- You can also edit the content if you like in the rich text input field
- Add any variable values if necessary. Variable values can help you customize the text copy if needed. Some template variables will be available by default.
- You can add tags to surface related snippets faster. Ex: Tagging outreach and follow-up emails as #Sales and Ticket resolution emails as #CS.
- Review the details and click on Save

From the dashboard
- Head to the dashboard (o/ + enter)
- Click on New Shortcut
- Select Snippet in the popup window
- Give your snippet a name in the input text field
- Edit access settings
- Paste the text copy you want to create a snippet for
- Add any variable values if needed
- Add tags to surface related snippets faster
- Review the details and click on Save
From the extension
- Click on the OSlash extension icon in your address bar
- Select Snippet in the popup window
- Give your snippet a name in the input text field
- Edit access settings
- Paste the text copy you want to create a snippet for
- Add any variable values if needed
- Add tags to surface related snippets faster
- Review the details and click on Save
And voila, your snippet is created!
